Knowing what knot to tie and how to tie it can make the difference between comfort or
discomfort and even life or death. During your many adventures you are sure to
encounter plenty of situations in which knowing the right knot will put you ahead of the
game. From tying in to climb to tying off your horse to a hitching post or your canoe to a
tree, knot tying ranks as a fundamental tool in any adventure. We'll be showing you
various knots and explaining their application in this section starting with a climber's
